Former Prime Minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi wrote a letter to Wajid Zia, head of the sugar Commission of Inquiry. Wajid Zia was also the head of Panama JIT against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has written a letter to DG FIA Wajid Zia to appear before the commission investigating the sugar crisis along with former federal minister Khurram Dastgir.
In the text of the letter, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that he would like to appear before the Commission of Inquiry with Khurram Dastgir and provide information to him.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi further said that the appropriate date and time for appearing before the Commission of Inquiry should be informed.
It is to be noted that the investigation report of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed that the main beneficiary of the sugar crisis in the country was Jahangir Tareen and the brother of Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar. The son of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch. Pervaiz Ellahi, Monis Ellahi is also among the beneficiaries of the sugar crisis.
The investigation report said that the incompetence of the federal and provincial governments was the main reason for the flour crisis. Punjab minister for food, Ch. Sami Ullah had resigned over the allegations of the investigation report.
