A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Athar MinAllah in Islamabad High Court heard the petition against the PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal in the Narowal Sports City Complex case.
During the hearing in the court, Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the accused is innocent till the case is proved. It is also important to protect the rights of the citizen from liberty and honor.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the authority to arrest the accused in NAB cannot deprive him of his constitutional rights. Additional prosecutor NAB opposed Ahsan Iqbal’s request for bail, saying the suspect can fly abroad.

The Chief Justice asked that in the case of LNG, PPRA rules do not apply. It does not use public funds, grants are used. In one case, public funds aren’t used. What is your case?
Additional NAB Prosecutor said that in the complete process, OGRA wasn’t included. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi misused the authority in the LNG terminal construction project.
Islamabad High Court also granted bail in the LNG case of former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi after hearing the arguments of the NAB prosecutor. The court also ordered Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to submit a bail bond of Rs 1 crore.
