After reports of flour and sugar crisis surfaced, the Prime Minister has announced a major reshuffle in federal cabinet. Jahangir Tareen’s office, Khusro Bakhtiar’s ministry changed. Abdur Razak Dawood has been removed from two posts, and the ministry of Hammad Azhar has also been changed.

PM Imran Khan has removed Jahangir Tareen as Chairman Task Force for Agriculture, while Khusro Bakhtiar’s ministry has been changed from Food Security to Economic Affairs. Prime Minister also approved the resignation of the MQM Convenor Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

Fakhar Imam is appointed as Federal Minister for Food Security in place of Khusro Bakhtiar. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister House on reshuffle in federal cabinet, Federal Minister for Food and Research Khusro Bakhtiar has been named as the Minister for Economic Affairs while Fakhar Imam has been made Federal Minister for Food and Research.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has also accepted the resignation of the Federal Minister for Information Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. However, MQM’s Aminul Haq has been included in the cabinet which has been appointed as the Federal Minister of Telecom.

Federal Minister Hammad Azhar has been given the Ministry of Industry, before he was the Minister of Economic Affairs, while Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Senator Azam Swati has been given the Narcotics Control.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s House, Babar Awan will be Prime Minister Imran Khan’s adviser for parliamentary affairs while the adviser for the establishment, Mohammad Shahzad Arbab, has been removed.

Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan, has also been removed from the Chairmanship of the Advisory Board of Sugar, Industry and Production.
