Punjab Minister for Literacy and Non-formal Basic Education Raja Rashid Hafeez tests positive for coronavirus. He has gone into self-isolation after testing positive for coronavirus.

“Those who have remained in touch with me for the past two weeks shall also go into self-quarantine and undergo coronavirus test,” said the education minister in a video message.

It is pertinent to mention here that Before Raja Rashid Hafeez tests positive, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of Punjab Assembly Shaheen Raza had lost her life to deadly coronavirus.

The PTI MPA contracted coronavirus four days ago and was admitted to Mayo hospital in Lahore after her health deteriorated. However, she died today while battling the virus.

Fifteen more people have died in the country from Corona, bringing the total death toll to 1,179, while the number of patients has risen to 56,967 since new cases emerged.

The highest death toll so far has been in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 408 people have died from Corona, while 369 have died in Sindh and 337 in Punjab. Also, 40 people have died in Balochistan, 16 in Islamabad, seven in Gilgit-Baltistan and two in Azad Kashmir.
