PTI Founding Member and SAPM Naeem Ul Haq passed away


Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant for Political Affairs Naeem Ul Haq passed away. PTI leader Naeem Ul Haq was considered a close aide of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Naeem Ul Haq was diagnosed with blood cancer in January 2018, since that time he was undergoing treatment and was away from political activities.

The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant, Naeemul Haq, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi and was brought to the hospital a few days ago.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail also confirmed his death.

Fawad Chaudhry wrote in a message posted on social networking site Twitter that Naeem Ul Haq fought like a lion against Cancer, a friend, elder and a colleague. He will always be missed. May Allah Rest his soul in peace.

Naeem Ul Haq was born in Karachi on July 11, 1949. He did his LLB in English Literature from the University of Karachi and LLB from SM Law College.

Naeem Ul Haq was a banker and businessman by profession, and he was part of the team that founded the National Bank branch in the UN Plaza of New York.

He was one of the 10 founding members of PTI in 1996. In 2012, Naeem Ul Haq moved to Islamabad to become the chief of staff of the PTI chairman. He remained part of the party’s core committee and information secretary.

After the formation of the PTI government in the federation, he was appointed by the Prime Minister Imran Khan as Assistant for Political Affairs and remained associated with the party till the end.
