Provincial health minister confirms first death from Coronavirus in Punjab


The first Coronavirus patient died in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid confirmed through her Twitter account that the first patient of Coronavirus died in the province. 57-year-old Afrasiyab was undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital in Lahore.

In her message, she said that due to coronavirus, the country is having a difficult time. If people stay in their homes, this problem can be fought.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to PM for health affairs Dr. Zafar Mirza said at a press conference that the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Pakistan has increased to 892.

The number of Coronavirus cases has increased by 89 in the last 24 hours. 63% of the virus-affected patients are male and 37% female, with a travel history of 78% of affected patients included Iran.

According to the Special Assistant, 399 cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Sindh, 249 in Punjab, 110 in Balochistan, 38 in KP and 80 in Gilgit, 15 in Islamabad and one in Azad Kashmir.
