It has been decided to set up the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Bahawalpur in Southern Punjab.
According to sources, members of the South Punjab Assembly met Prime Minister Imran Khan in which political issues and matters related to South Punjab province were discussed.
It was decided in the meeting that the Chief Secretary Secretariat of South Punjab will be set up in Bahawalpur.
Sources say that most members opposed the creation of a secretariat in Bahawalpur and proposed a secretariat in Multan while some members supported the proposal of making secretariat in Bahawalpur.
According to sources, the Assembly members said that the restoration movement in Bahawalpur is underway, while the Prime Minister also agreed to the proposal to create the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Bahawalpur.
Sources say that Rs 3 and a half billion funds will be allocated for the South Punjab Secretariat.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had also met Prime Minister Imran Khan in which he briefed Imran Khan on the performance of the Punjab government and meeting with opposition members.
