Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the World Economic Forum has said that the situation regarding corona is different in Pakistan and Western countries. Due to global debt, countries like Pakistan cannot spend more on medical facilities. We need financial resources to improve medical facilities.
According to news details, these views were expressed by Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the World Economic Forum through a video link. He said that our experience against corona is different from that of developed countries. We are also facing the challenge of poverty as 25 million workers in Pakistan are daily wagers.
The Prime Minister said that 25 million families have lost their jobs due to the Coronavirus and lockdown. Our government has launched an Ehsaas emergency program for the affected families.
Imran Khan said, “We have deployed a volunteer force along with our administration. The number of corona cases in Pakistan is increasing but the number is less than estimated.”
“The cash program is a short-term solution to help those who have lost their jobs due to coronavirus. We also have to look at the plight of the poor during the lockdown. Our government has distributed cash and rations to 10 million families,” he said.
“Exports around the world have fallen because of the corona. Oil prices have reduced. We have reduced the current account deficit after a difficult situation. The issue has been discussed with the heads of various developing countries, including Egypt and Nigeria, as well as other developing countries. Pakistan is facing similar problems.”
The Prime Minister said, “This year is proving to be very difficult for our country. Due to global debt, countries like Pakistan cannot spend much on medical facilities. We need financial resources to improve medical facilities.”
