A 10-year-old Pakistani American Girl Laila Khan was honored by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump along with other coronavirus crisis heroes for helping the people on the frontlines.
Pakistani American Girl Laila Khan also spoke as she stood on stage with fellow Girl Scout Troop 744 members in the Rose Garden of the White House. Laila Khan, 10, from Maryland was recognized as an American coronavirus hero as she has donated cookies to nurses and firefighters.
The ceremony on Friday was held in the White House Rose Garden to honor local coronavirus heroes, including Girl Scouts from Maryland who donated cookies to local firefighters, doctors, and nurses.
According to the White House’s Twitter account, the ceremony was meant to honor “several great Americans from different walks of life who have uplifted their communities through hard work, heroism and hope”.
