Pakistan lost no. 1 rank in ICC T20 ranking after 27 months. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a new annual ranking for Tests, ODIs, and T20s.

According to the annual rankings, Australia topped Test cricket with 116 points, followed by New Zealand at second and India at third. Pakistan is seventh in the Test rankings with 86 points.

In the annual ICC T20 ranking, the Pakistan team could not maintain the first position and is at the fourth position with 260 points. Australia has also occupied the first position in the T20, while England is second and India is the third-ranked team.

In the annual ICC ODI rankings, England retains the first position, followed by India and New Zealand. South Africa remains fourth in the ODI rankings. Pakistan is on the sixth spot.

Pakistan T20 Team was on the top spot since January 2018. Sarfaraz Ahmad was the skipper of the team and the team won 12 consecutive series under his captaincy.

Sarfaraz was removed from the captaincy after Pakistan whitewashed by Srilanka in the home series. Star Batsman Babar Azam was given the captaincy after that. Babar’s first challenge was against the mighty Aussies team on their soil. Pakistan lost this series by 2-0.
