The Lahore High Court granted interim bail to opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif on June 17 and restrained the NAB from arresting him.
According to details, the bail plea of opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif was heard in the Lahore High Court. A two-member bench headed by Justice Tariq Abbasi heard the case.
The Chief Justice directed Shahbaz Sharif not to be stopped after which he reached the court while the NAB team was also present at the gate of the High Court.
The court asked at what stage the case against Shahbaz Sharif is. Lawyer Shahbaz Sharif Amjad Pervez said that the case is at the stage of the investigation, to which the court asked where the NAB members are and come to the rostrum.
The court inquired whether NAB opposes Shahbaz Sharif’s bail application. NAB lawyer Faisal Bukhari said that NAB will oppose Shahbaz Sharif’s bail application. Shahbaz Sharif was summoned in the Clean Water case on October 5, 2018.
The Lahore High Court restrained the NAB from arresting Shahbaz Sharif and granted him interim bail on June 17 and ordered him to submit a surety bond of Rs 500,000.
The court also ordered to submit a bail bond of Rs 500,000 to the Deputy Registrar Judicial and sought a reply from the NAB at the next hearing.
