Only 130 Ventilators available, Punjab Government submits report to Supreme Court

Only 130 ventilators are available at the district headquarters hospitals in Pakistan’s most populous province. In the Corona suo moto notice case, the Punjab government has submitted the report to the Supreme Court which revealed that there are only 130 ventilators in the district headquarters hospitals of the province.

According to the report submitted, 100 more ventilators for DHQ hospitals will arrive soon while OPDs are active in all hospitals in the province.

The provincial government said in the report that 7 laboratories in the province can conduct 3100 tests daily. Laboratories are also being set up in Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Wazirabad, Faisalabad and DG Khan.

According to the report, new prisoners arriving in prisons are kept in Quarantina for two weeks while instructions have been issued to all deputy commissioners to determine the proper place for the sub-jail. The report says that Isolation wards have been set up in jail hospitals across the province.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also revealed only 55 ventilators

On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also submitted the report to the Supreme Court in the CoronaVirus Notice case which revealed that there are only 55 ventilators in district headquarters hospitals across the province.

The report says that the number of ventilators in the district headquarters hospitals will be increased to 150.
