A team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore raided his residence with a heavy contingent of police to arrest Shahbaz Sharif for non-appearance in the alleged money laundering case. However, he was not present at the house.
According to reports, the NAB Lahore team raided the residence of former Punjab Chief Minister and current Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif in Model Town and remained inside the house for about an hour and a half. However, they were told that the former CM was not present in the house after which the team left.
According to sources, the NAB team left Model Town for Jati Umrah to arrest Shahbaz Sharif. The area was cordoned off before the arrival of the NAB team and a heavy contingent of police was present to prevent the workers from advancing.
According to reports, three women officials were also present in the NAB team while the team was headed by NAB Deputy Director Chaudhry Muhammad Asghar.
Upon receiving the information, a large number of PML-N workers gathered outside Shahbaz’s residence in Model Town and chanted anti-government slogans. Crowds of PML-N leaders and workers also clashed with the police.
