NAB decides to launch probe into sugar wheat scandal

sugar wheat scandal

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to take full and independent action on the sugar wheat scandal. According to NAB sources, flour and sugar are prime mega-scandals, so the legal aspects are being thoroughly reviewed.

Sources say NAB can’t play silent spectator role on corruption of billions of rupees. Therefore, the NAB has decided to act vigorously, independently and under law in the flour and sugar scandal.

It should be noted that the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) investigative report on the sugar crisis in the past revealed that the prime beneficiaries of the sugar crisis were PTI’s senior leader Jahangir Khan Tareen, Khusro Bakhtiar’s brother and son of PML Q Leader Ch Pervaiz Ellahi’s son, Monis Ellahi.

Immediately after the report of the sugar crisis surfaced, Prime Minister Imran Khan took immediate action, changed the federal cabinet and removed Jahangir Tareen as Chairman of the task force on Agriculture in Punjab.

The opposition criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan and the NAB over the sugar crisis, saying that despite investigative reports of such a large scandal, no action is being taken against the government members. Now, NAB has started action on sugar wheat scandal.
