More ventilators are required

More Ventilators are required in the upcoming days in the country. Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal said that our preparations for ventilators are complete and more will be required in the coming days.

In his statement, Chairman NDMA said that more than 50% of the ventilators have not been used in all the cities yet but if the situation remains bad, 2,000 more ventilators are required by the end of June.

“By May 31, we will have another 585 ICU ventilators. The NDMA has ordered 1,310 ventilators. The United States has also offered to supply 200 ventilators,” he said.

Lt. Gen. Mohammad Afzal said that 365 public sector hospitals are being used for corona. Training and installation of staff there is also included in the agreements while the repair of ventilators for 3 years is also included in the agreement.

He said that 30 ventilators would be provided to Peshawar immediately. Faisalabad District Headquarters Hospital has 12 ventilators out of which 5 are being used by the patients while 128 people across the country are on ventilators.

It should be recalled that the number of people infected with Corona has exceeded 58,000 across the country while 1202 people have died.
