Lahore Qalandars lose third consecutive match


In the 11th match of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar won and the Lahore Qalandars failed to open the winning account once again.

 The match between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars was delayed due to rain in Rawalpindi Stadium and the match was reduced to 12 overs.

Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to field first and Peshawar Zalmi scored 132 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the first 12 overs and the Lahore Qalandars got a target of 133 runs to win.

Peshawar Zalmi’s Tom Banton and Haider Ali scored 34 runs each, while Lewis Gregory scored 16, Kamran Akmal 14 and Liam Livingstone scored five runs.

Skipper Darren Sammy was dismissed for 12 runs while Wahab Riaz remained unbeaten on 13 runs. Dilbar Hussain took four wickets for Lahore while David Wiese got 2 wickets and Shaheen Shah Afridi took one wicket.

In reply, the Lahore Qalandars team scored 116 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 12 overs. Chris Lynn scored 30 runs and Samit Patel was the leading scorer with 34 runs.

From Peshawar Zalmi, Lewis Gregory took four wickets while Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir Khan took one wicket each. Gregory was the player of the match for his fine bowling effort.
