Jahangir Tareen, the senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, called the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) report on the Sugar crisis a political and an attack on himself. Jahangir Tareen reaction on sugar crisis report was expected after allegations.
In an informal conversation with journalists, Jahangir Tareen said that the PM’s principal secretary Azam Khan is behind this report. My differences with Azam Khan started six months ago. He is constantly damaging the Prime Minister.
Jahangir Tareen reaction on sugar crisis report said that I had no chairmanship of the agricultural task force. If I had a designation, show me a notification of it. Subsidy on sugar is not new. It is always given in the past. There is no shortage of sugar in the country. There is nothing in the investigative report.
Referring to the relationship with the Prime Minister, he said that his relationship with Imran Khan is not the same as before.
Media reports say that after the report of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the flour and sugar crisis, Jahangir Tareen has been removed from the post of Chairman Task Force for Agriculture but he denied any such position.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former spokesperson for Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Gil tweeted, saying that Jahangir Tareen has been removed from the post of Chairman Task Force on Agriculture.
Sources say Jahangir Tareen was removed from the post after reports about the sugar and flour crisis and it was said that further action against Jahangir Tareen would be made following the recommendations of the sugar and flour crisis inquiry commission.
It is to be noted that at the beginning of this year, prices of wheat and sugar had increased due to the crisis in the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan handed over the responsibility to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate the matter, after which the FIA report came out on April 4.
