In the seventh match of the PSL Five, Islamabad United defeated the Lahore Qalandars by one wicket after a thrilling match.
According to details, in the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore Qalandars gave Islamabad United a target of 183 runs to win Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan played a brilliant 52-run stand, while Colin Ingram and David Malan scored 30 and 22 runs respectively.
Lahore Qalandars Mohammad Hafeez’s 98-run stand and Shaheen Shah Afridi’s four wickets could not save the match for Lahore Qalandars.
Earlier, thanks to Mohammad Hafeez’s brilliant innings, the Lahore Qalandars scored 182 for five wickets in the stipulated overs and gave United a target of 183 runs to win. Mohammad Hafeez missed a century by mere 2 runs. Hafeez scored an unbeaten 98 runs with 7 fours and 7 towering sixes.
Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan took 2 wickets while Muhammad Musa and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.
In reply, Islamabad United lost their openers cheaply and then Sipper Shadab Khan scored a brilliant maiden PSL fifty. Colin Ingram also scored a gutsy knock of 30 runs. Shaheen Shah Afridi took 4 wickets. Musa Khan guided United to win by one wicket.
