Hizbul Mujahideen chief commander Riyaz Naikoo along with his comrades were martyred during a clash with the Indian Army in Pulwama district of Occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a search operation was conducted by the occupying Indian Army in Begpura village of Pulwama district during which a clash took place with Mujahideen.
Hizbul Mujahideen chief commander Riyaz Naikoo and his comrade Adil Ahmed were martyred during the clash. Riyaz Naikoo was appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of Hizbul Mujahideen after the martyrdom of Burhan Wani in 2016.
Who was Riyaz Naikoo?
Riyaz Naikoo hailed from the Begpura area of Pulwama and was a mathematics teacher. He joined the armed struggle against the Indian army in 2012 and became the commander-in-chief of Hizbul Mujahideen in 2016.
Riyaz Naikoo was among the most wanted persons in India whose head was valued at INR 1.2 million.
