High Court Forms New Bench to hear Maryam Nawaz ECL plea


The Bench hearing on the request of former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif dissolved, after which the Lahore High Court has constituted a new 2-member bench.

According to details, Chief Justice Lahore High Court has formed a new two-member bench to hear the request of Maryam Nawaz. The bench will be headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi for hearing of NAB cases while Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh is also part of the bench.

The preliminary hearing on the request of Maryam Nawaz was headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi for the summer holidays. Due to the change of the bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, the case of Maryam Nawaz is transferred to another bench.

It should be remembered that the petition filed by Maryam Nawaz made the federal government, the Interior Ministry and the FIA ​​a party, in which it was stated that the government and It’s institutions decided to put the name of Maryam Nawaz in ECL without hearing her position. So, without hearing the concerned person, adding his/her name in ECL is illegal and a violation of the Constitution.

The petition states that the condition of father Nawaz Sharif’s illness is undeniable, due to severe mental stress. She wants to go abroad for the care of the father. Allow me to travel abroad 1 time for 6 weeks until the final decision of the petition filed.
