According to media reports, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has tested positive for the coronavirus. Ghulam Bilour is in quarantine at home. He is being considered for transfer to a private hospital.
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM) Sindh Assembly member Mangla Sharma was also infected with the coronavirus. Her husband tested positive and both quarantined themselves at home.
Besides, two members of the Senate, Senator Maulana Ata-ur-Rehman and Senator Fida Mohammad have also been confirmed to have the coronavirus. According to sources, the Senate Secretariat has barred both the senators from attending the meeting.
According to an update released by the National Command and Operations Center, the new and deadly virus has infected 42,125 people across Pakistan with the global outbreak of COVID-19, with another 30 deaths in the last 24 hours. The death toll has since risen to 903.
