Federal Minister of Law Farogh Naseem apologizes to ex-Attorney General Anwer Mansoor


Law Minister Farogh Naseem apologized for the statement regarding former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan.

Farogh Naseem said that I apologize for my words regarding Anwar Mansoor Khan. Anwar Mansoor is like my elder brother. I take back my words. Law Minister further said that I have not objected to the appointment of Attorney General Khalid Javed. I’m not going to resign.

It may be recalled that the Full Bench of the Supreme Court had ordered the Attorney General of Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan to give written evidence or apologize to the Supreme Court judges during the presidential reference hearing against Justice Qazi Faiz Essa.

Subsequently, on the demand of the government, Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan resigned from his post and Khalid Javed Khan has been appointed Attorney General of Pakistan.

In this regard, Law Minister Farogh Naseem said that the statement given by Anwar Mansoor Khan in the Supreme Court was not known to anyone and did not include the intention of the government.

Farogh Naseem said that the statement was submitted to the Supreme Court by the Prime Minister, President, Shahzad Akbar and myself, in which we expressed detachment to the allegations made by Anwar Mansoor Khan.
