A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee chaired by Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh approved the mobile device manufacturing policy, after which low-cost smartphone availability will be possible in Pakistan.
According to details, a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. A seven-point agenda was considered in the meeting.
According to sources, it was decided in the meeting that the concerned ministry should give suggestions for direct assistance to the farmers and the ministry was directed to increase cotton production, provide quality seeds and other facilities.
The meeting approved the mobile device manufacturing policy while RLNG postponed the summary of policy pricing guidelines.
A statement issued on the sidelines of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting chaired by Finance Advisor Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh said yesterday that Pakistan would not resort to refinancing commercial loans while the MoU was conditional on Cabinet approval.
According to the statement, the meeting approved Rs 36 crore for repair of Supreme Court buildings, Rs 383.6 million for development schemes in Sindh, and a grant of Rs 29 crore to the Ministry of Housing for salaries of PWD employees.
The ECC had approved the setting up of a policy committee on the Prime Minister’s Corona Relief Fund, headed by the Prime Minister and comprising of finance and trade advisers. The committee will consist of eight people, including the Minister for Planning and Poverty Alleviation Advisor.
