Briefing the media representatives in Rawalpindi, Director General ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the Pak-India war had knocked on 27th February, 2019.
He said that today is a day of Thanksgiving and a day of commitment for us as well. Thanksgiving day in the sense that the forces of Pakistan had met the trust of the nation. Pakistan Army is well aware of every enemy plot and is always ready for the defense of their beloved homeland.
Referring to the Indian provocation on the Line of Control, the spokesman said that there are constant threats from India on the eastern border. We’re well aware of the game India is playing to divert attention from internal chaos. India’s game is a serious threat to peace in the region.
India has committed 84 ceasefire violations so far this year in which two of our civilians were martyred and 30 were injured. The Indian Army even did not spare innocent school-going children. In the last two years, the highest violations of the ceasefire were recorded on the LoC. We have responded and will continue to respond to Indian attacks.
Speaking on the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir, DG ISPR said that in occupied Kashmir, India has made Kashmiris life hell for the last 207 days. Kashmiris are being raped and oppressed. Kashmir dispute is no longer a dispute between Pakistan and India but now it has become a global issue.
Kashmir has now become the focus of international attention. The UN has reaffirmed the commitment that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with the resolutions of the Security Council.
