Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has allowed the manufacture of chloroquine raw materials locally for the treatment of coronavirus. According to details, DRAP has taken important steps to prevent the Coronavirus after being directed by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Health affairs Dr. Zafar Mirza.
Dr. Zafar Mirza said that DRAP allowed the manufacture of chloroquine raw materials locally and that clinical trials of plasma therapy for Corona were also allowed. DRAP also allowed clinical trials of ventilators manufactured in Pakistan, after which the ventilators prepared by the Pakistan Engineering Council are being tested before use.
Dr. Zafar Mirza said that DRAP has allowed more than 50 companies to make hand sanitizers for 3 months. DRAP issued a notification a few days ago to ensure the supply of hand sanitizer. Licensed companies will manufacture standard hand sanitizer according to WHO guidelines.
It is clear that the US National Institutes of Health has included Pakistan in the countries seeking treatment for the Coronavirus. The US National Institutes of Health’s Library of Medicine enlisted Pakistan, and the 20-member team of the Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad qualified for the experiments on patients.
