Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that we can’t afford to leave any section of the society at the mercy of a global pandemic.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended a special briefing held at the National Command and Operations Center.
At the briefing, participants were briefed on the latest Coronavirus prevention measures and the deployment of military personnel across the country to assist the Federal and Provincial Administration.
Speaking on the occasion, the Army Chief said that all necessary steps are being taken to protect the people. We cannot leave any section of society at the mercy of this epidemic.
He added that the soldiers should reach civilians in every corner of Pakistan so that they not only have protection from the outbreak but also comfort in this time of trouble.
The Army Chief said that we can remove all weaknesses before becoming a threat only through an integrated national struggle. Timely actions will help the security and well-being of all Pakistanis.
“We have to emerge as a nation, irrespective of color, race, faith, and religion. We have a difficult task but before that, we have overcome the difficulties. This time the challenge is very different. The armed forces will stand side by side with the nation to secure the border between the people and the Coronavirus.”
The meeting also expressed satisfaction over the steps taken so far and discussed the future course of action.
The briefing was attended by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Omar, Brigadier Retired Ijaz Shah, Hamad Azhar, and other Ministers and Assistant Specialists Dr. Zafar Mirza, Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Moeed Yousuf and Saniya Nishtar.
