CM Punjab lays foundation stone of Punjab Local Govt Academy

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar said that the purpose of setting up Punjab Local Govt Academy is to strengthen the local government system.

According to details, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar laid the foundation stone of Punjab Local Govt Academy in Johar Town, Lahore. During the briefing, the Chief Minister was informed that the academy would be completed in 18 months at a cost of Rs 1.86 billion.

It was informed during the briefing that the modern building of the academy would consist of 2 basements, 4 floors, 3 academic floors, 2 administrative blocks, a hostel floor, and spacious car parking. The first and second floors of the Punjab Local Govt Academy should be rented out. The annual income from renting the floor is expected to be around Rs. 4 crores.

On the occasion, the Punjab Chief Minister said that the purpose of setting up of Punjab Local Government Academy is to strengthen the local government system. The establishment of Local Government Academy in Lahore is welcome and commendable.

Sardar Usman Buzdar further said that public representatives and officials would be given training in the academy as per the present times and the local bodies department would be upgraded as per the requirements of the times.
