The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has revoked the licenses of 17 PIA pilots. According to details, the CAA has revoked the licenses of 17 pilots of the national airline after an investigation. The licenses of the first officer have also been revoked.
According to sources, after the government’s approval, the DG Civil Aviation Authority issued an official letter revoking the pilot’s license. Civil aviation sources say the CAA has suspended the licenses of more than 90 PIA captains who are under investigation.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed that a list of eight captains has been received by the PIA and the pilots whose licenses have been revoked will be sacked.
Sources said that the APTL licenses of 48 PIA pilots have been suspended without show cause. The suspended pilots have been given two weeks to file a reply for clarification.
PALPA sources said that several pilots have submitted replies to the CAA regarding the suspension of the captains’ licenses, on which further legal consultation is underway.
