Babar Azam Appointed As New Captain Of Pakistan ODI Team

The Pakistan Cricket Board has also appointed Babar Azam, captain of the national T20 team, as the captain of the team for one-day matches.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Babar Azam has been appointed as the captain of the Pakistan cricket team for one-day matches.

Babar Azam is also the captain of the Pakistan T20 team while Azhar Ali will lead the Test team. It may be recalled that before Babar, wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfraz Ahmed was the captain of the national team.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced new central contracts for the national team players. The PCB has decided to give central contracts to 18 players this year. Apart from them, three cricketers have been included in the emerging category.

Naseem Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed have also been included in the central contract effective July 1, while Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Hasnain are in the newly formed Emerging Players category.

Apart from fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz, who has retired from Test cricket, Hassan Ali has not been able to secure a central contract this time.
