A meeting of the National Coordinating Committee chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan decided that educational institutions will remain closed till July 15.

According to details, a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan, which was attended by provincial chief ministers and senior officials of the military establishment.

Federal Ministers Fakhar Imam, Sheikh Rashid, Advisor Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Special Assistants Saniya Nishtar, Zulfi Bukhari, Asim Bajwa, Zafar Mirza, Moeed Yusuf were also present.

The current and expected situation of coronavirus was discussed in detail in the meeting of the National Coordinating Committee and the Chairman NDMA and Health Advisor gave a briefing on the situation.

It was decided in the meeting that educational institutions will remain closed till July 15 while trains and flights would also remain closed and a decision on domestic air travel and railways would be taken later.

Yesterday, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood chaired an inter-provincial conference of education ministers in which Punjab, Balochistan, and Sindh opposed the opening of educational institutions from June 1. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had supported the opening of educational institutions from June 1.

Due to disagreement among the provinces over the opening of educational institutions, it had been decided to take up the matter in a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
